The partnership has adopted this initial environmental statement which will inform the development of a fuller environmental management policy in the coming year.  At that time, we intend to seek appropriate external accreditation.

By the nature of our business we are not large users of resources or generators of large quantities of waste products. Our product is essentially intellectual capital.

We are, however, conscious of environmental effects, and indeed measurement of these often forms part of our work. We do not engage in work or processes which would knowingly have an adverse impact on the environment. As an organization we recycle printing cartridges as well as paper; re-use scrap paper. We use public transport as our only mode on work based journeys except where this is entirely impractical.

Sustainable development

There are many definitions and dimensions to sustainability. In all our work we aim to promote patterns of physical, economic and social/community development which ensure that the use of resources and the environment today does not depleted or exhaust resources or restrict their use by future generations.

Particular sustainable aims relate to our planning and urban design work:

• Creating more inclusive communities: Sharing the benefits of economic growth as widely as possible.
• Better protection of the environment and use of natural resources
• Achieving a better quality of life by the creation and maintenance of better quality urban environments.
• Sustainable transport

Next  Steps

Doyle complies with relevant environmental legislation and is committed to improving its environmental performance. We are in the process of carrying out an initial environment review following which we planto design an efficient and effective environmental management system delivering legal compliance, improved performance and which minimizes environmental risks.

At inception, all new staff go through an induction which includes discussion and instruction on our environmental policy. We try to ensure that any suppliers and contractors comply with the environmental policy. Our environmental policy is checked and updated annually to ensure continual improvement.
